I’m unsure about updating my Galaxy S23 Ultra to One UI 8 with Android 16. I’ve seen posts on Reddit and X about problems like green or pink screen lines (maybe hardware, but often after updates), worse battery life, overheating during normal use, and screenshot bugs that mess up files. Some people also had issues with alarms not working and Bluetooth audio during calls.

My phone works great on One UI 7, and I don’t want to mess that up. But the new AI tools, smoother animations, and DeX upgrades look really cool. I heard Samsung paused the update in some places because of battery and heating problems. It’s rolling out again, but I’m not sure it’s stable yet.

If you’ve updated your S23, S24, S22, or Z Fold how’s it going? Did you do anything like clearing cache to fix bugs? Should I update now or wait for a patch? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Hey, I updated my S23 Ultra to One UI 8 a few days ago. It’s been a mixed experience. No screen issues so far (knock on wood), but the battery drained faster at first and the phone got warm just browsing X. I did a cache wipe (power + volume down, then select “wipe cache”) and gave it a couple days. Now the battery’s a bit better, and the new lockscreen widgets and AI photo tools are pretty cool.

Some downsides: screenshots can glitch especially during game and I had one corrupted image. Clearing the gallery cache with Good Lock helped. I’ve seen posts about Bluetooth call issues on the S24, but I haven’t had that problem.

Samsung paused the update for a bit due to battery and heating issues, so they’re working on fixes. If your phone’s running great on One UI 7, maybe wait a week or two unless you’re excited for the new features. If you game a lot or use DeX, that might make it worth it. Let me know if you want help with the cache wipe steps!
