Magisk APP v31.1 is a key component of the Magisk framework, a suite of open-source tools for Android customization. It provides users with a user-friendly interface to manage root access, install Magisk modules, and handle other system modifications without affecting the core software.
Developed by John Wu, also known as topjohnwu on GitHub, Magisk APP v31.1 brings several new features and improvements to the Magisk framework:
- Expanded Device Support: Added support for HSUM devices and Aluminium OS (Googlebooks), while dropping Android 6.0 support. Android 7.0 is now the minimum.
- Improved App & Image Patching: Unified the image patching process, added official firmware download suggestions, and enabled direct USB image writing on Googlebooks.
- Superuser & Security Changes: Removed reactive root permission prompts and obsolete superuser settings. Root access must now be granted in advance through the Superuser tab.
- Boot Image & Performance Improvements: Added native ChromeOS image signing, improved AVB and Samsung signature handling, fixed MagiskBoot issues, and improved download and patching progress display.
Magisk APP v31.1 supports devices running Android 6.0 and higher, offering a versatile and powerful tool for systemless rooting and system modification. The project’s source code and community support are available on GitHub, where users can also contribute to its development.
